Metal Repair System

Product Description

DE-113 Metaalloy is two compound epoxy system specially designed for rebuilding components in corrosion prone environment. On cure, it has excellent machinability. This non rusting compound is ideally suitable for rebuilding of bearing housings, shafts & any mechanical component. It has high compressive strength. It has good temperature & chemical resistance

Field Of Application
  • Rebuilding of various mechanical compounds like shafts, bearing housing, threaded parts, pump impellers & valves.
  • Suitable for repair of engine blocks, gears, pump casing, pipes & storage tanks.
  • Ideal for reclaiming surfaces which requires precision finish.

Recommended Procedure for Application
  • Clean, dry and abrade application surface. Thorough the degree of surface preparation better the performance of the application. If possible, it is recommended that the surface be grit-blasted to a Near White Metal SSPC-SP10 Standard. For less severe applications, roughening the surface with hand tools or grinding is suitable.
  • Solvent cleaning with thinner is recommended as the final step of surface preparation.
  • Mixing : Mix entire kit onto a clean and dry mixing surface and mix thoroughly until color is uniform.
Application
  • Machine the worn area down 0.3mm to produce a square shoulder on part.
  • Machine a spiral cut in bottom of area to be repaired to provide mechanical keying into surface.
  • Apply excess product to ensure small shrinkage during cure does not produce depression.
  • Machine the surface to original dimensions prior to full cure as the product is very wear resistant
Important Point to be Remember
  • Working time and cure depends on temperature and mass : Higher the temperature, Faster the cure. Larger the mass of material mixed, faster the cure.
  • To speed the cure of epoxies at low temperatures : Store epoxy at room temperature.Pre-heat surface to be repaired until warm to the touch.
  • To slow the cure of epoxies at high temperatures : Mix epoxy in small masses to prevent rapid curing. Cool resin/hardener component(s).
